I know that this video got a pretty negative response from the class last week in the lecture. I might, however, play the devil's advocate (so to speak) and say that I think this is appropriate and useful! While many see this 'dressing up' of religion into a neat little 'Hi-5' package as seduction, my own personal experience of this kind of modern Sunday School gives me a different opinion.
While some in the class argued that children do not have a cognitive understanding of what they're being fed in these contexts, I argue that as church-going children part of Christian families, they are not being 'seduced'. In the Christian thought, children have as much ability to be authentic Christians as any adult. Jesus said 'Let the little children come to me', and they can do that singing 'Jesus love me this I know', or 'Jesus is my superhero'.
